We'll be coming through Baton Rouge next week about lunch time

Just the wife and I and a 22lb. dog. Wanting seafood, the wife is expecting oysters. The only caveat is the dog. It will be too hot to leave him in the car so I am looking for "dog-friendly" restaurants. I saw Jolie Pearl is. Thoughts or any other recommendations are appreciated

Jolie Pearl is closed. Another similar restaurant opened in its place though. May be the same owners.

Maybe the bulldog, on Perkins? I know the original Bulldog In N. O. lets dogs in. Does anybody know?

Drago’s in Perkins Rowe has outdoor seating. Maybe call and see if they will let you sit outside with your dog. Also don’t know how good the oysters are. I’ve never been.

These aren't necessarily known for seafood restaurants by the cuisine they serve, but they are still good restaurants and may have what you are looking for and are very dog friendly:
SoLou
Cocha
BLDG 5
The Chimes East

Why do you point out the dog's weight and not your wife's?

Solou allows dogs on their patio
Not strictly seafood but they do have some seafood dishes that are quite good

I am not eating raw oysters in this summer heat.
That being said, Willie's has good seafood minus the oysters. They have a patio area so I would think they are dog friendly.

Just to say that he's not a large dog, Josh. The wife is 5' 2" and 150 lbs., arse

I now see the inspiration for the username.
Sincerely,

I noticed today that French Market Bistro on Highland also has a few tables outside. Here is a link to the menu. French Market Bistro

They do, and I love the place, but a cat named Ned lives on those tables. Wouldn’t bring a dog.

If you are on I-10 I'd forget BTR and stop at Henderson the west side of the Atch. Pat's is large, may have outside seating, overlooks the water, and usually has oysters. LINK
I suspect they are "dogs OK outside" but call ahead.
Working against your wife's desire for oysters and eating outside with the dog is BTR's 90+ noon temps now. You can always buy oysters but the bacteria count soars in summer. Some people say the quality declines because it's breeding season.
French Market Bistro has great oysters, but those 3 or 4 outside tables can be miserable. Try this, call Armstrong Vet Hospital (225) 756-5193 . It's a small clinic in the very same development and ask about a 2-hour board. while you dine inside. They are nice people and can get your dog updated on shots while you dine. If they can't help you ask them about groomers nearby.

We are well aware of the facts concerning eating oysters during the hot months. We've been eating them for many years, still love them
I appreciate all of the replies, will research
