Weekly meals

I have a coworker whose family eats the same meals Monday - Friday. No joke.
Are there certain meals that you eat every day of the week? For example, red beans and rice on Monday, pizza on Friday, Italian dinner on Sunday, and so forth?

Not necessarily the same, but pretty close. Usually do salmon/tuna, ground turkey tacos or meatballs, pork tenderloin or flank steak, and some form of chicken for dinner during the week (Monday-Thursday). It's typically the same set of proteins but prep differently to keep it interesting, and mix in seasonal veggies and sides.

Not always, but most of the time:
Monday is either RB&R or leftovers from Sunday.
Tuesday is usually tacos (either restaurant or at home)
Wednesday random
Thursday is grilling on patio if weather permits
Friday is football game food at the games (football season) or fried foods or seafood non-football season.
Saturday is bbq/smoker day (summer) during winter, usually at the hunting camp.
Sunday is big meal (gumbo/stew/pot roast) day

Most Monday's it's red beans, rice and cornbread, but that's not written in stone.
I can probably go months and not cook the same meal twice with all the recipes I have committed to memory from almost 5 decades of cooking under my belt.
I do, however, find myself cooking a lot of dishes using chicken and pork as the main protein. With the current price of beef it looks like chicken and pork are my go-to meats for the time being.

I don't see a problem with it. That is more variety than my house currently does. We hate cooking during the week so on Sunday we cook 3 big meals and eat on them throughout the week.

For working people with both husband and wife out the house on a daily basis, this is what a lot of families are doing now.
I'm retired, love to cook and have a vast repertoire of recipes committed to memory, so daily cooking is actually fun for me.
I also don't mind cooking in bulk, so a lot of what I cook is packaged and frozen for later use on nights I don't feel like spending time at the stove.
As for fast food, we really don't eat much, but will sometimes have Chinese from Five Happiness, Middle Eastern food from Mona's, pizza delivered or head down to "Da' Parish" and stop in at Rocky & Carlos.

I cook one large pot of awesomeness every Sunday and my family of four eat off that Sun-Thurs. Friday night is pizza night. Saturday I usually cook something fun.
I've got about 10 dishes I have perfected and in rotation. When winter comes around we add soups and gumbos to the rotation. Summer time means more BBQ dishes.
My wife and I don't get home until 5:45 p.m. Dinner is at 6 p.m. for the 6-year-old and 2-year-old. No way we can put together something quick.
My Mom cooked crap like Hamburger Helper growing up. No way I'm feeding my kids insta-garbage.
This week it's Caesar salad, red beans & rice, veggy side, cornbread and cantaloupe.

I usually cook a lot of food on Sunday to eat through Wednesday, usually a smoked pork shoulder, Mississippi pot roast, or spaghetti and meatballs or something massive like that. The next few days are roasted chicken or salmon or something lighter with veggies. If that's not the rotation then some smoked sausage with rice and beans.

I eat the same thing for lunch everyday, and have for a little over two years.

On second count, we have about 17 meals we rotate. That's not counting the two weeks per year I'll buy a giant box of Popeyes we eat for nearly a week. Extra fried turkey for Thanksgiving will last a few days. We rarely eat out bc of the kids.

That sounds awful. By Tuesday I’d be about tapped out of eating the same thing three nights straight.

We pretty much shop daily for whatever we want to cook for dinner. No schedule at all typically.

I'm not saying we chose to live this way. We've adapted to this b.c. of our schedule...but our schedule will change.
In a few years the kids will eat dinner at 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. Will make a world of a difference in our eating habits.

No schedule, I cook what I feel like eating, last night it was a nicoise salad, or a variation of, night before it was stir fry from leftover rotisserie chicken, night before chicken lime tortilla soup.
