Has anybody used this? I hate shopping at Walmart because it is always packed and they never have enough cashiers. Has anyone used the pick up service where you order online and they bring your order out to you?

Cool concept but I wouldn't want to buy anything from Walmart.

Are you near a Kroger? They do this too.

I do it all the time. The grocery selection is not as great as if you went in the store but it's pretty good. Sometimes they have to substitute if they don't have what you ordered but you normally come out ahead. You can also tell them not to substitute. I've been satisfied with the service.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll give it a shot.

Yes.You dont have to step inside the place which is the biggest plus. Its fast and easy. Let the rest of the morons inside line up like cattle to go through the only register in the place while you are loaded and on your way in very little time.

I guess I'm blessed with our local Wal-Mart. Always clean, stocked and enough casiers where you dont have to wait very long if at all.

I've done it once and if you know exactly what you need it's fine, but obviously it's almost impossible to do window shopping online when you are looking at groceries. I wish Walmart had a scan n go app like Sam's club, as I like to poke around the store but like that I can scan while I shop and then just walk out afterwards.

It's all we use now. Definitely great if you're trying to stick to a budget;not picking up all the "that looks good" items. We usually order about every 2 weeks and are adding things to the cart as we go along those 2 weeks in between.

How do handle refrigerator & freezer items?

Never shopped at Walmart, but I do now. Adding my items to my cart as I plan my grocery list, rather than planning the list for an hour and then going shopping for an hour, is a game changer.

Important meat comes from Robert down the street. My grocery bill has gone down to $50/week (excluding meat, but that’s only $10-$20) since doing it.

Different caliber of employee too.

Edit - I do it through the Neighborhood one on Highland and Lee. So if you have one of those, you don’t even have to deal with the shitty super Walmart parking lots.

Have been using it pretty much every week for the last year or so. Really is nice and convenient. As someone already posted, if you allow substitutes, you come out ahead on that deal.

been using it for about a year. it's easy to stay on budget and it's usually pretty quick. when substitutions are made, you come out ahead. you can always turn it down, if you don't like it.

they have missed a couple of items on my order a couple of times. all you do is call a 1800 number and tell them what was omitted. they credit your card.

give it a shot once to see if you like it.

I use it to avoid walking in that mess of a store. However, I still hate the fact that I am shopping at Walmart. If rouses did this, it would be heavenly. But then again I don’t mind shopping inside a rouses.

I always click no substitutions and I never buy produce and rarely buy meat from Walmart

You select a time slot when you place your order. They assemble the order ahead of time (often several hours ahead) and store it in a separate area, which includes fridges and freezers for perishables. My milk and yogurt has always been cold as can be.

I get an alert on the app, an e-mail or a call (sometimes a combo), usually about 30 minutes ahead of my time slot to confirm the order is ready.

I check-in on the app when I head that way, so they can see via GPS when I arrive. I don't even have to call. Or you can call when you pull up. Within a few minutes, they put your stuff in a cart and bring it out.

If there is a certain brand or size of product you must have, check no substitutes. Otherwise, if they are out of something they will sub a larger size (32 pack of water when out of 24) or more expensive brand (Dasani for Ozarka). If they do that, they'll tell you at the car.

My concern was produce selection. So far, so good, except one prepackaged bag of broccoli florets that were brown. I let them know on my online review (they always ask you to do a survey), and now they give the opportunity to inspect the produce when loading.

I shop at Kroger if I have to go in, but I often use Wal-Mart pickup for the convenience of getting basics and heavy items like water, coke, canned goods, etc. loaded up (and cheaper) without having to go in the store, shove a buggy around, and wait in line.

The Wal-Mart employees who run the pickup service here are the best and nicest employees I've ever encountered in a WM.

I have not let them select meat except ground beef, and the app won't let me buy beer. It says that is subject to local/state laws.

Kroger has the same program, but they charge $5 after the first 3 trips. Wal-Mart is free, and the groceries are cheaper.

it’s pretty awesome. You can save favorites online too, so stuff you routinely buy you can just drag in the cart.

Just pull up and they load it in the car for you.

***PRO TIP ALERT***

Go to Walmart on a weeknight after 8pm.

Use the SELF CHECKOUT.

You’ll never have a long wait unless it’s around Christmas.

That entirely depends on the WalMart. WalMart on College Drive is probably its worst after 8pm.

Why? So you can get home to find out that a good number of your items that you purchased are expired?
