Lafayette Waitress Steals $30,000 From Walk-On’s
By Sam Stokes January 24, 2014 3:51 PM | 96.5 KPEL

Former Walk-On’s waitress Hue Bui entered a guilty plea Wednesday to one count of wire fraud involving theft from Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar in Lafayette.
While employed by Walk-On’s from February 2012 to August 2012, Bui managed to steal over $30,000 by using an elaborate scheme involving $25 prepaid American Express, Visa, and Master Card gift cards. According to the US Attorney’s Office, Bui would charge fictitious food and beverage orders to the $25 gift cards she purchased herself. Bui would then add in a tip amount that would exceed the card’s $25 limit. This allowed Bui to cash out her tips that night, but when the transactions were sent to the card companies, the card companies would notice the overdraft and charge the transactions back to Walk-On’s.
The scheme allowed Bui to essentially tip herself, and have the total charged to Walk-On’s.
Bui faces 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, restitution, and three years of supervised release for the count of wire fraud.

My review would be a bit jaded in terms of the time frame from when I last ate at the original, the suck was that bad. At least seven years ago, and no other location.

Gotta love it when someone goes full retard and bashes a restaurant they have been to once, seven years ago.

Will this deal make them rethink their current expansion plans (i.e. Houma)?

Sad to hear about the split but happy to hear that all of the restaurants are staying open. Walk-ons has been a huge part of my life, met some great friends there and had many great nights. I would love for the restaurant to go nation wide. Its good for Baton Rouge and LSU. People everywhere would love it!

A place like Mugshots (started in Hattiesburg)..

Baton Rouge, LA
Covington, LA
Tuscaloosa, AL
Vestivia Hills, AL
Mobile, AL
Montgomery, AL
Biloxi, MS
Jackson, MS
Starkville, MS
Meridian, MS

With plans to open in Birmingham, Oxford, Tupelo, Madison, and Memphis, TN in 2014.

Who has a better business model; Mugshots or Walk Ons?

Walk Ons signed on another franchisee today. This one a retired police officer apparently.

These guys seem to be adding a new franchisee every few weeks.

You are correct. Walk On's food is not good and they are nowhere near the best sports bar in America.

It's all about the concept.
