Don't knock that NOLAGT crackling until you try it...I might taste good

I went back and forth with posting the gory pics but it changed the outcome of my dish and I wanted to share lol. It also shows some of the other types of challenges you encounter in the kitchen while cooking.

Holygrale Really liked the colors and I'm intrigued by the black garlic

Boogabear Love Pomp and that cream sauce looked delish. I also like the parchment paper trick to keep it all together while cooking.

Lambdatiger I love pecans, love Mahi, and love crab so I would order that me.

Very hard to decide because I'd eat every last one of them. Well BigDropper I would try it if the wife ordered it...beets are usually a show stopper for me but I have not had them fresh like that just in a can.

14 is a great number. Congrats to all who participated During previous food challenges (2014'ish), I seem to recall around 8-10 submissions per challenge. They were blind entries as we sent emails with food pics & descriptions to Fun Bunch who posted them as Entry #1, Entry #2, etc...

Having an appreciation of food paring, prep work, and various cooking methods, it's quite apparent there were many hours spent in the kitchen. Except Janky who spent 11 minutes in the drive-through for a #7 value meal Seeing these food pics always gives me ideas on what I want to cook next.

Try the fresh ones. You will be pleasantly surprised. I know I was when I first had a roasted beet salad. I couldn't believe my taste buds. I'd really been missing out. Just use gloves when you fool with the red ones. They will stain you! Your fingers will look like the injured one you already have!

Now, I'm craving Borshch. A friend fixed a really good pureed one some years ago. Delicious.

Sound advice, and make sure your apron is up around your neck.

& don't be alarmed if your morning ablutions are, well... colored!

It stained my cutting board and almost my countertops too last time, so I just order beets in restaurants now.

Love them though.

Ugg...I might give that a whirl one day. I cant tell you the last time I even tried one out of a can, its probably been 30 years. I do like the sounds of maybe a little camouflage of red on red tho

Very well might have. I wasn't sure with all the blood but it was all part of the experience so I said fukit. There was worse blood pics...the drip was so fast it was almost a solid stream.

Be right back lol

Id try it if it was my own. I know I have had worse things...like beets
