I tend to trust urbanspoon more for ratings. Use yelp sometimes for info I can't get on urbanspoon.
Tripadvisor for restaurants not even once.

I know that's what you really wanted to say.
Had I wanted to say that, I would have, you're a guy who doesn't like cheese for crying out loud! You were Zach's Lucy.
You really should work on adjusting to life post and sans Gris Gris. I know it's hard for you to accept, but try!!
I remember when there were a lot of negative posts on Yelp about R&O's after it was featured on that stupid show. Those posts were removed pronto which confirmed the lack of credibility, what little there was, for me. I believe some were also removed from Urbanspoon, as well. I'm sure R&O's was contractually forbidden to respond to the posts.

But a pic is an actual record of what made it to the table....you can tell quite a bit about a place by the look of a plate.

The best source is a restaurant's facebook page rating.
I'll use urbanspoon rating as a consensus tiebreaker after narrowing down by menu. Speaking of menus I don't understand why more places do not have menus online. Not having a website is okay, but not using the urbanspoon or yelp page to post a menu is behind the times and becoming as egregious as places that are still "cash only." Restaurants, please help us avoid four year old blurry phone camera menu pictures.

I post reviews on Urbanspoon. Don't use Yelp at all.

I use Urbanspoon and I feel like it's pretty consistent in my area.
Why does every one of your posts on the F&D board get down voted?

There's this little klan on the "music" board that isn't actually about music, and they hate my boyfriend because he's mean to them so they follow me around and downvote me in retaliation.
Yes, it really is as strange as it sounds.
But downvotes don't matter. So.

Urban spoon. easy app to use, up to date information, menus. what's not to love?
I don't read the reviews but I will look at % liked. If it's less than 50%, no way I'm going.

I've gotten to where I hardly ever notice down or up votes unless I'm bookmarking a post. I think they're meaningless. You don't know who or why. It's sort of junior high.
I can't for the life of me figure out why the admins thought it was valuable. Probably cuts down on posts for the few people who vote rather than post. Maybe every vote is included in their traffic stats. That's the only thing that I can think of that would make any sense.
I don't rely on Facebook votes for restaurants either. Have no idea who's voting. Could be a competitor for all I know. Same with the other sites on the percentage and probably some posts, too.

Yeah, except 99% of the "music" board people you're referring to are banned.
Maybe the downvotes have to with the insufferably condescending tone with which you post.

I use Yelp and FourSquare. Never look at Urbanspoon. I take a look at most of the reviews but don't trust them 100%. I like the advice on this board alot more.
LL I will now downvote every post of yours from here on out

I find the opinion of others to be useless unless you have a frame of reference for their opinions. For example, reading this board is more useful than either Yelp or US simply because it doesn't take long to get a sense of what regular posters like and don't like. If I know what Poster X likes, and I've been to that place, then I can compare my opinion to his and know where we agree disagree and now I have a reference for his/her opinion. You don't even have to agree with them, they just need to be consistent. I think this is true of any kind of criticism. Getting reviews/opinions from strangers without any history or reference for their opinions is pretty useless.
Like others, I use these apps occasionally for info on the restaurants, directions, hours, etc.

I use yelp for general info. mainly, only because that one usually is listed before urban spoon in a google search...
I'll read a couple of reviews with a grain of a salt, usually dismissing the ones that seem to have had an extraordinarily bad experience, that somehow became personal.. I think you can kinda get a feel for what a place will be like..
