As I browsed the cocktail menu he offered to make me one of his off the menu drinks. It was so fresh and delicious that I called one of my "martini snob" friends and made her come up to join us! We all sat on the patio to enjoy the beautiful day and discovered something else we loved... with the amazing fountain and music, all the traffic noise of Jefferson Hwy disappeared! Finally a place to sit outside where you can disappear from the Baton Rouge traffic and just enjoy being with your friends and family!
I have a hard time believing all of this happened. People just don’t hop up on a moments notice and join a couple in the middle of dinner. DEFINITELY feels like a paid advertisement or shameless plug by ownership or family.

The one in Central is better and nowhere near as pricy. Brunch is the only time worth going when the items are cheaper. The omelette special is always great, hamburger is good as any in town, and the crab cake Benedict is really good. Not a bad time to sit around and have some drinks and eat. With all that said, Ruth's is still the place to go for a steak. I like Louisiana Lagniappe better for dinner too than Stabs.

I have been. Food was good, atmosphere was excellent and drinks / bar was on point. But nothing that’s warrants thirty seven !!! in a review.
The OP seems like something that was done by an ad service and authored by someone who has never been there.

Tried every entree on the menu in Central. Tapers off fast after the smoked prime rib.
Took our neighbors to Jefferson for my birthday. “Prime”. Steak quality was mediocre. Waitress said I must be a filet guy. I ordered what she suggested
Best part of the night was champagne and oysters as appetizers. Their CharGrilled specialty oysters are great.
That said, I will not go back.

Most people I talk to, don't like the smoked prime rib
I had it once and it was good but nothing special. The only problem Stabs Prime will have is keeping a steady lunch crowd with the prices I've heard about. Ruth's has the entire lunch menu with affordable meals that end up being a ton of food. The Filet and mushroom sandwich at Ruth's may be the best in town. Comes with a good salad and a big side for $16. Stabs needs to directly compete with that or try to beat it.

Well this certainly didn’t go the way the OP intended

I've never been and have no plan on going, and I live right down the street. Their menu is utterly generic and their prices are absurd, and I say that as someone who spends a borderline irresponsible percentage of their disposable income on food.
Here's to hoping something more interesting utilizes the space in the future.

I hate to call someone a name but you’re an idiot.
Like it’s in a strip mall or something?

If you would please rephrase your post so I know how to insult you, I would appreciate it. As of now, it's more than a little vague. For a start, who said anything about a strip mall?

It’s not worth it. Do you think that location would be better suited for a Chipotle or maybe a Denny’s?

Good lord, you're out of your fricking depth...
Let me guess: in your mind, a steakhouse is the epitome of fine dining?

I’ll play. Are you going to buy the place? What concept would you put there Wolfgang?
Posted on 3/24/18 at 8:00 pm to Shingo
Really, that’s playing? I absently comment that I hope something more interesting than a generic steakhouse takes its place, and now the only way I can support that opinion is by buying the property myself and feeding you a concept?
It’s a run of the mill “fancy” steakhouse. We have a half dozen of them. We didn’t need another.
What we could use is destination type Spanish tapas restaurant a la Pamplona in Lafayette, or an Israeli restaurant like Shaya, or any of the other couple of dozen of ethnicities currently unrepresented in our culinary scene. Hell, I would even take a high end french restaurant to compete with Maison Lacour.
But yeah, frick me for not giving two shits about another steak restaurant

So, is Shingo the husband and SNAKERIVER the wife?
Posted on 3/26/18 at 5:55 pm to SNAKERIVER
What really annoys me is when owners/workers of restaurants don't even try to write a review like a normal person and out themselves with an obnoxious post about how OMG WONDERFUL YAY the restaurant is.

I had the option to go to either Stabs or Beasoleil for lunch yesterday.
Based on this thread I’m really, really glad I went with my gut and chose Beausoliel.
