What really annoys me is when owners/workers of restaurants don't even try to write a review like a normal person and out themselves with an obnoxious post about how OMG WONDERFUL YAY the restaurant is.

To be fair if anyone here knows the owner and his wife (I do) they would know they wouldn’t or couldn’t write something like that. I take it as a bit tongue in cheek .

I’ve had lunch and dinner there. It’s ok for what it is. That’s all. If I’m in the area for a steak I’m a Fleming’s guy. My wife is a Chris’ person but seldom do we indulge in a steakhouse. I much prefer Beausolil.

Flemings over Ruth 's?

Not bashing, just don't think I have heard that before.

Just like it better. Better wine list, atmosphere and I like the NY Strip. Maybe I’m just not into the “in” crowd and douche politicians and hangers on at Chris’. Wife likes it so on occasion, I’m not discriminating. Just a preference. Wonder if they grind their own meat?

I did like the old Chris’ on Broad. Had homemade potato chips served with ketchup and the booths with the curtains.

I generally liked the food at Stab's on Jefferson, particularly the appetizers. Outside of the appetizers though it was a very generic menu as someone else said. Nonetheless, the entrees were still good. Also, contrary to what many people have said I had a great experience with the service. The waiters were very nice and attentive. We also had a table next to a birthday party that was a little loud and the manager and owner both came over and apologized separately and comped a round of drinks.

However, they are off their rocker with the prices. I have no idea how someone could honestly say that the prices was a plus like OP. They must have had salads as a entree because even with comped drinks I was still surprised by the bill.

Also, this may be nitpicking, but I also wasn't a huge fan of the decor/layout of the place. That is probably heavily influenced by the fact that it was the bank my parents always took me to when I was a kid...but I just couldn't shake the feeling that I was in an old, generic bank.

It is an Hays Town design. City National Bank and we used it as well and grew up behind it.

I give it less than a year. It's just doesn't have enough of a "WOW" factor for a BR restaurant to be able to make it. Have talked to enough people now who've gone and said it wasn't worth it, weren't going back. Sad, because they sunk a ton of money into it.

Wow. This is just... sad.

My personal opinion of Stabs is that the food’s not bad, but it’s overpriced... WAYYY overpriced.

As for Fleming’s ive had multiple bad experiences there over the past few years and won’t go back.
