Unique Cooking Apparatus

Anyone have a unique cooking apparatus they use? Either by building something that is not currently purchased? Or has been modified from something that they have seen commercially? I am always amazed that I think I have seen it all and every now and then something unique pops.

I want to get this. I saw this chef use what looked like a cleaver but taller and more functional and he used it as his only knife. Started with cutting the meat, chopping the veggies, cutting up shallots and garlic and even used it as a tool to move food around from board to stove. Been meaning to track that down.

I recently built my own smoker for slow and medium heat smoking of jerky, bacon, salmon, etc. It is big enough to put a good 100 lbs. of product on the 3 shelves in it.
So far I've only smoked jerky and pork bellies for bacon in it and it turned out great.
I do make my own sausage and that is next on the agenda when I attempt andouille for the first time.

Over 25 years ago, my brother got a patent for this oyster knife:

I could have used that baby last weekend at a block party I attended. They hired a guy to shuck oysters-----only he really didn't know how, so I stepped in and opened a couple hundred of those bad boys for eating raw and grilling and the oyster knife they had on hand was incredibly small and cheesy, but it got the job done.
I have 2 Dexter oyster knives at home with the white textured handle and stainless steel blade, but didn't know about the oysters till there.

Looks cool, but I'll stick with my 240mm gyuto as my workhorse.
...and I'll get one of those first ones if I ever need to dismember and hide a body. That thing's a beast.

Not real unique, but my dad made a grill years ago out of expanded metal and angle iron fit over the fire pit at the camp. Looks kind of rough, but there's been some good meat cooked over oak come off this thing.

Looks good Reb. I like cooking over an open fire. I did a big ettouffee over a similar rig over the holidays. Had a nice smokiness to it.
Where’s the camp? Natty Light and Mountain Dew I’m in.

A friend of mine made me a charcoal griddle for my Weber grill out of 1/4" plate. It's pretty cool:
A little coal cooks at 300°-350°
A lot of coal cooks much hotter:

I made this last weekend.
I’m gonna put some plexiglass on the sides and drill a bunch of holes in it. And, buy more spray paint.
