Brussel sprouts are a big hit with my crew, not sure how unorthodox we're talking. Mushrooms are good too but that's pretty common nowadays.

I made a thread like this once. Some soyboi ra’d it to the food board.

Lotus root
I use it as a Chinese hot pot staple, so in a crawfish boil it will go well. It will be like flavored water chestnuts

Pineapple.
Cut that sucker up right before dumping. The sweet and the salty is a great mix.
Eat it all at the boil because it doesn’t save worth a flip.

One lobster. Sneak it in when no one's looking.
