Would’ve been early 90s on Airline. Between Sherwood and where Coursey is today. Good restaurant but if I remember it only had a short run.

Wasn’t it front of the old plantation inn?

Kiva's
A little Baton Rouge restaurant nostalgia....
Kiva's dad (pretty sure his name was Ken) was one of the managers (pretty sure the main guy) that ran The Village for Ms Fannie Distafano. Ms Fannie's son Joe, owned Jack Sabin's restaurant (also on Airline). When he closed down he went to work for his mother at The Village. Joe's son was Joey Distafano (RIP) who also was a good chef and restaurantuer.
When The Village closed, Ken took a lot of the staff and opened Kiva's (named after Ken's son). For some reason, I think Ken and/or Kiva were involved in opening up Portabello's (across from Mike Anderson).

My parents used to rave about Jack Sabins. We eat at really good restaurants and I’m curious how good the food really was. The village, maybe for BR was nothing special.
