I'll throw in Moonshine Grill for a dinner rec.
Good cocktails and Southern style cooking.

Easy Tiger (beers and good food), Bangers (beers and good food), East Side King for great asian food (several food truck locations...I like the one at Liberty Bar)

All of this. I would add Craft Pride in if you are going to Bangers. They are both on Rainey.

If we are staying at the intercontinental is there an area we can go to and hit up 3 or 4 places just walking or should we can it everywhere?

If you are staying at the Intercontinental, of course sit outside on the second floor bar overlooking congress. Now that the Lege session is over, things will have cleared up. Across the street, at some point, hit up Kebabalicious and get the Spoiled Brat Kebab. Nearby is CU29 Bar, get a handcrafted cocktail, not far away is Firehouse Lounge. You enter through the hostel entrance, and then they open a bookshelf that leads to the bar. I would then head to 6th street, and if you like bourbon street style bars, stay there or cross congress ave and head to west 6th street. Then later, grab a cab/uber/lyft, and get to rainey street. Spend the rest of the evening there. Hit up Bangers for a sausage and beer, Clive, Graj Mahal for Indian, Blackheart for a good whiskey selection. If you are still hungry, now that Katz's Deli did finally close, 24-Hour Diner is your only decent option. Its a small uber ride fare away on Lamar.

All the taco answers are wrong.

Go to Taco Deli. Best tacos in the country.

Their chips & salsa is good. The tacos are as bland as Donny Osmond.

Good, but definitely not great. Especially for what you pay.

La Barbecue has a decent line as well. I went a couple months ago, go there at 10:45 and didn't sit down with food until 12:30. It was worth it.

I thought the tacos were good. My complaint was the ridiculous amount of bird shite everywhere on the patio. I had to look ito my tacos before every bite to make sure I wasn't about to eat some

Call me old school but give me Huts hamburgers any day over Hopdaddy

I like Hopdaddy but for a craft beer trendy place, $23 for a burger fries and beer was a little high

Yeah if you don't have time to wait for franklins, I think la barbecue is the best option or a trip out to the original salt lick.
