I've only been to one in Raleigh. It's like Disneyland for alcoholics.

The one in Vegas has some really REALLY expensive bottles locked up in the front. I guess every now and then some high roller ponies up.

The wine selection is massive and you can get some interesting bottles at great prices.

The amount of beer is also massive but the selection is kind of pedestrian. Elios, Sav-N-Time, and many other places have a much better selection.

Awesome for wine, so-so for everything else.

I've gotten beers there that I can find at any local beer store and the prices aren't that much different.

It will probably do pretty well on Siegen. Really makes you wonder how much more crap they can cram on that one street.

It's going to do awesome.

Sucks for Calandro's, but I'm sure they will still be alright in the end.

eh Calandros has a much better bourbon selection, probably beer too.

I think total wine is a bigger deal in states that don't have the sheer amount of liquor stores we have in La. Like someone said earlier, the wine selection is great but everything else is meh

This...everyone has spent years building relationships with local retailers about to have their allocation sucked up by the wal mart of liquor stores.

adapt or fail. That's capitalism sucker.

There will be plenty of people that live around mid city who will only venture out to Siegen a few times per year. Calandros and the like isn't going anywhere.

Calandros has always had a loyal customer base. Most people who shop there don't care if it's a little more expensive.

Let's be honest. You shop there for the same reason you go to costco instead of sams. less trash.

I love my small town grocery store for that reason. Everybody knows everybody, and trashy behavior isn't tolerated. Even though it's 100% in the hood.

Yep, I remember people whining that they didn't except EBT a few years ago. That's one reason that they have a loyal customer base.
