I haven't tried Kim Anh's but that dish is what got me hooked on Vietnamese at the now closed Arc en Ciel in Richardson, TX way back when. It is called Chao Tom and is kind of hard to find in the Louisiana Vietnamese restaurants and Pho shops but at a lot of the Vietnamese places in Atlanta. Did they give you the banh trang rice paper to make a wrap with? Thanks for the photo. I'll be craving that for the rest of the day.

Cheers!

No rice papers at KA.

Glad you enjoyed the pic. That was my first time having it and figured some of my pho brothers would appreciate a sampling of KA.

BO- I'll have to try it at 9 Roses.

Justin has one of the most likeable on the show so far. There doesn't seem to be a favorite like a couple season ago with the brothers

Really weak showing for Michael. I also watched him lose in last kitchen online. Episode was so-so.

Next week's episode looks good with Besh.

I'm sure IRL the dude can cook, but he just seemed like a schmuck as a person...fake, annoying, dickhead.

How pissed would you've been to get invited to the Top Chef/MG World party to find out Lea Michelle had it vegan catered?

Eta: his arancine must've sucked balls to lose to those two salads they clearly hated.

I'm sort of glad he's gone so he can't make himself look worse than he does already both personally and, in some aspects, as a chef. I agree that losing to the salads says a lot about his food on the show compared to the other chefs.

Just the fact that he threw in getting laid in his interview was cocky. Pun intended. Seriously? He really said that? That's what I was thinking when I heard that.

I suspect Justin's dish was fine, but he got bumped down for going with the beets. Also think his partner's dish must not have been strong. He's been in the middle a lot with one win.

Pompous and douchey without being able to back up his arrogance on the plate. Glad he's gone.

I'm so glad that fricker is gone. I hate those campy pet names dudes attempting to be all suave use. I'll call a gf sugar tits every now and then it's a joke. How many times did he call Nina baby cakes? STFU man. Stop trying to skate by on your average cooking skills because you are paired with one of the top 5 chefs on the show. Now I get why many say galatoire's is slipping.

Currently I'd say the top 5 are, Nina, Justin, the Chinese girl, Carlos, and the chick with the super short hair. Just outside that the blonde girl, the other Philly guy, and the rockabilly chick.

Next to home is Benny or the Cuban girl. I think she got lucky this round. Those two are def the weakest left, as well as captain Vietnamese.

This was my least favorite episode this season. I had no idea who the "celebrities" were and catering a vegan menu. No meat, no care. Glad to see Michael gone tho.

Every year they trot out an actor or actress who "Loves Top Chef and Food!" Only to learn they are a vegan. When in reality the people are just picky eaters.

Hard to fault any of the chefs for going home when they are not only asked to cook only with vegetables and cheese but also to make it spooky.

I can understand an exercise in cooking vegan, but not making it spooky in addition to that. That was just silly IMO.

So, when can you give us scoop in how Michael was set up to look so badly on the show. I'm curious about that. How did they get him to say "I got laid".
