Yup, if you take the lead on restaurant wars only 1 or 2 things happen

I think Stephanie's broth saved her and Louis's popcorn cooked him.

Justin has turned into a complete wanker, and it looks like he will be an even bigger one next week.

Trying to pass off his dry pork as almost all fat was funny. I think the judges can tell when something is dry.

To be fair, Tom said he dug it.

You've obviously never cooked pork and then had it sit out in the sun for a few hours while you waited for TV judges to make their way to your booth.

I do it every week.

What is funny is that he probably has never done that either.

I'm more talking about his douchey attitude. He wouldn't acknowledge it was dry. It's one thing to understand the reasons and another to deny it.

Half of the judges did not think it was dry and of the other two judges only one, Padma, was really insistent that her pork was dry. I'd defend that with vigor as well.

No, half of the judges did not get dry pieces. The guest judge had a dry piece too.

I think Padma is a joke, but even the equivalent of a game show host can tell moist from dry. If she was evaluating flavors it would be different.

Aside from that, he acted like a whiney girl this week.

I do think it will be him and Nina in the final though. Classic!

Seemed to me their biggest complaint was the inconsistency of the pork, i.e. some had dry and others was not. Yeah he did whine alot tho.
He did have a tremendous flare up on his grill when cooking which probably contributed to the dryness.

The judges said all of the dishes were good so they were trying to nit-pick the worst of the "good" dishes. It was probably not as dry as some of us think but it still could be critiqued.

As for him handling the criticism, he didn't do so well on that part. Editing could have contributed to that also.

Yeah, I doubt it was bone dry.

He handled the criticism fine in front the judges, then seemed like he was joking around in the back with the other contestants. Didn't really seem like he was whining. Most of what these guys say to each other are taken out of context and made to look more serious than it actually is.

Do you think the judges make a concerted effort to try dishes they know will lose freshness faster?

Some dishes will hold better than others, curious if they take that into account at all.

I've wondered that, as well, but I guess since they were all serving folks other than judges, they were expected to keep their dishes fresh. I wondered about that for the dishes prepared on the farm.

I didn't think Justin whined. I thought he was defending his dish and we don't know how "dry" those pieces were. No one said they were shoe leather. And, yes, the judges said more than once that someone was going home for a good dish.

Pretty certain the judges just walk in and start tasting. I don't think they head for say a cold seafood dish before a soup or whatever.

Its all editing but this has been a good season.

It's the only season I've seen. Not sure I'll watch another one. I don't care for the judges much.

Justin has probably the best attitude of anyone ever on the show.

Under that type of stress, it appears so, but I have no idea what we don't see. I'd think if he was an arse, they'd show it. They like drama and skirmishes. Looks like that's on the agenda for the next episode.

This season is missing that really innovative chef like Richard Blais, the Voltaggio brothers, or even Kristen from last season.

I'm still enjoying it because it's Nola, but there hasn't been any dishes that are mind blowing conceptually.
