this board has been this way for a bit now. you suggest you might even remotely like some place someone doesn't, you instantly get a down vote.

The last time I dined at Gautreau’s it was a most disagreeable event. With us were two friends, including the lovely mother of BigPerm. Without going into specifics it was the last time I may ever eat there.

thats been on my list to go to. was the food off or was service poor?

disappointing to hear.

Top 5 is pretty damn hard to nail down but GW Fins, Costera, Maypop, and Toups are probably my top 4. Picking a last one between Peche, Commanders, Coquette, Lilette, Le petite, Clancy’s, etc would be difficult. Admittedly I’ve never been to Paladar or N7 but have been everywhere else listed.

Correct response
He would try to steer some unsuspecting person to Impastatos in Metairie for a “best restaurant in Nola experience”.

Routinely see people downvoted just for asking for recipes

I would add Gabrielle to the mix. Everything is spot on all the time.

Clancy's
Gautreau's
Lillete
Saffron
Brightsen's
Commander's
Saba
Costera
Arnaud's
Peche

I can't do just five, I feel like top ten is better.

not much to expound on. i found the combination of flavors in both my salad and entre to be unusual. very different than i've experienced before. if you asked me if i'd go back i would hesitate to answer. i'm not sure yet. service was great. i wanted to express my thoughts that it was different, not criticize or recommend. is that ok here?

I was just asking what you meant by it. After a second post it is still not clear. I’m not insulted, was just curious what different meant.

I personally don't like Compere Lapin. The flavor profiles they have just seem messy to me. A lot of the stuff I have had seems adventurous on paper; but doesn't end up that way.

Definitely one of the most over-hyped places I've ever been to in New Orleans...was it bad? Absolutely not. Was it memorable? Absolutely not.

Been there 4x. I didn’t like it the 1st time (within a year of opening). The last three meals have been phenomenal.

Recently tried Paladar 511 for first time and it was really good.

Commanders palace and Emeril's were always were we went for fancy dinners.

Adolfo is great but I've been going to Acropolis more.

Sammy's deli is my favorite lunch spot.

Francolini's is my new favorite sandwich spot.
