Friend,

Only one person is allowed to create lists on this board, and they must be top 10s.

I dunno about "Top 5" but our weeknight quick staples that we cook, if i don't cook something big on Sunday are:

1) P90X Chicken - Lemon juice, molasses, and garlic marinated chicken thighs cooked in the oven
2) Shake and bake pork chops
3) Taco night with el paso taco dinner kit

And for sides for 1 and 2 it's usually pasta sides and a veggie such as broccoli or brussel sprouts. With the taco's, we usually have those Amy's refried beans.

Some of our Sunday night (big dinners) dinners that are rotated in once a month or so.

Spaghetti
Roast, rice and gravy
a myriad of quick dinner meals from pioneer woman

And then there are the classic jambalaya/gumbo but i don't cook those as often.

When we all get together and meals from growing up are cooked, it is always the same:

1) Big breakfast
2) Chicken and Dumplings
3) Hamburger steaks/gravy/mashed potatoes
4) Stroganoff
5) Scalloped ham and potatoes (leftover holiday ham)

All easy meals to make cheap and in bulk.

We use a lot of ground venison so we mostly cook things that it works well in:

1) Meatloaf
2) Taco meat for either tacos, taco salad, or burritos
3) Sketty and Meatballs or Lasagna
4) Meatball stew
5) Fried deer steak. Even the hind quarter steaks, I cut them up in smaller pieces and pound them flat and fry. My kids can't get enough of them and they're tender as hell.
