muthafrickin right. only time I've eaten at Houston's was in NYC, but I got the French dip per my friend's recommendation who worked there and it was fantastic.

Looking for soemthing quick just for take-out to bring back to work.

because the whole point was to list sandwiches in the area other than poboys.

Still doesn't explain the glaring omission of ANY version of the muffaletta.
ETA, Oh, well, I see his disclaimer about that, though.

The list also does not consider NOLA Metro po-boys. Although some of the sandwiches listed below are served on French bread, it is a French bread that is unlike NOLA Metro po-boy bread. An example of this are the tartines from Tartine. Because I have not included po-boy French bread po-boys, many great sandwiches have been left out. For example, a pastrami po-boy from Parkway is better than its equivalent at Stein's Deli, but isn't listed. Muffalettas and hamburgers are also excluded from my list.
If there's a better chicken sandwich than the one at Chick Fil A, I haven't had it.

I was told that Mannigs has some sort of signature chicken sandwhich.
Chick fila has an awesome chicken sandwhich but I would exclude it from this list.

I didn't fault his inclusion of Chick-fil-a, I think there is better chicken sandwiches out there, but none as good for that price. Chick fil a has a solid chicken.

If a little start-up local joint like Company Burger was making the exact same chicken sandwich with pickles as Chick Fil A, it would be the talk of the town. It's a darn good sandwich, and for the price, definitely deserving of a top ten mention.

if you do one more sandwich, you'd have a top ten list.
Good work.

Milk Bar? Where/what is that?
Posted on 2/13/12 at 3:10 pm to Lester Earl
Milk Bar is on Delachaise b/w St. Charles and Prytania. Small little place w/ ambitious sandwiches on ciabatta. Damn good milkshakes, too. I place it behind Stein's for best in city.
