It's no wonder that every body and their brother is coming out with sausage the price is very high and the mark up is ridiculous. You can get pork for under 1$ a lb and make sausage for like 1.50$ We pretty much make our own now a days its fun and very economical and not only that ya know what goes in it.

Hogs for the cause is the best at rouses. Unfortunately my particular store stopped carrying it

If I need togoto Rouses either that or the Hogs but Hogs is only smoked sausage. Veron's has a pretty nice selection too, including Andouille.

Sidebar, Chris's Meat in Lakeview as well.

I’m disappointed in every sausage that’s not Teet’s.

Have only tried Teet's once and it lived up to the hype. I'd put it in the same class as Rabideaux's but Rabideaux's is like 2 minutes off I-10 and Ville Platte is a drive.

As far as packaged grocery store sausage available in the BR area Veron's is the best

Is Veron's on the stores the same as Veron's in Lutcher?

I went to the rouses and picked some up based off this thread. Sausage has good flavor but Jesus that casing is tough. Imma stick with Conecuh.

No, the store in Lutcher still makes the original recipe. The one you see everywhere else changed years ago when they started mass marketing.

If you get Veron’s Andouille be sure to pick up the fat links rather than the thin links. They make and sell both.

Teets sausage is like T-boys boudin..the reputation is better than the actual product..drive over to Pine Prairie (but slow down) and get some sausage from Guillorys..real old time smoked sausage.

if you crave real cajun smoked sausage, i encourage you to order some from teet's food store online and have it shipped to your residence.

Growing up in ST Landry parish Savoie's has always been my favorite store bought. We make our own in small 5 lb batches every few weeks.
