While the sandwich features a drizzle of 100-year-old balsamic vinegar, slices of quail's egg, heirloom black tomato, epicure apple, fresh figs, all between slices sourdough bread sprinkled with gold dust, the main (read: priciest) ingredient is the white truffle cheddar cheese which Blunos had made specifically for the sandwich. The fromage alone will set you back over $140.

Total cost to you...$170

For 170 bucks, that sure doesn't sound too exciting.

how is it safe to ingest Gold Dust (the metal, not the wrestler)?

seems like a waste. I would get depressed see gold flakes in my poop, and knowing that I just flushed it down the drain.

My daughter is the one who did the "Where's the beef?" commercials, if that gives you any indication.

Looks and sounds very dry. Nothing irritates me more than a dry sandwich.

Cuyler, who makes this sandwich? A right click on the pic reveals that it's probably a British product. I remember one episode of Hell's Kitchen where the contestants had to create a gourmet sandwich, so perhaps Gordon Ramsay is behind this?

Oh, ok...thanks. When I saw Blunos, I thought they were just the maker of the cheese for the sandwich.
