You know I know Ronnie's and Jerry Lee's very well.

I would have put Ronnie's in the top 4 and Jerry Lee's in the top 5 or 6 of the ones I tasted.

There were actually a few I did not care for at all.

Not sure why Poche's was not represnted. But I am sure Nunu's is further off the beaten path than Poche's, so I do not think that was a reason.

Would have like to seen Billy's from Opelousas there as well.

Not that I could have eatten one more bite of Boudin, at least after the free Couchon de lait samples.

And the Hog head cheese samples,

And the sasauge samples,

And the Cajun Eggrolls,

And the stuffed eggs,

My cardiologist, would love all this

No can't say I do.

I used to work right down the road Jerry Lee's, and it was a weekly lunch spot for me, but that was before Ronnie opened. After that I would only go for Nostalgia.... and hog head cheese.

I'm a little surprised to not see Poche's of breaux bridge on the list. I've been to many of the places you listed and for money Poche's beats them all. With best stop coming in close behind.

This.

My maw-maw works there and has worked there for a few decades. The cracklins are the bee's knee's and their boudin is top knotch. It's a pain to get to but for good food I'll drive anywhere.

Poche's

Map looks like I'll have to do some navigating.. Is this one of those places where they kick your arse if you not from Breaux Bridge?? Or is it one of those "We love everybody and we keep Ali Landry's picture behind the counter" places?

Either way, I'll stop in to get my fix.. Thanks

Poche's is so mass produced, its not that great anymore.... I have been eating it since the 80's and its not near what it used to be...... have relatives that live there...

I've been going there for a long time too and in my opinion it has lost its consistency - it's hit or miss. Still my favorite, though, when it hits. I always thought maybe the cook changed - old guy cooking it got too old or something like that. The cracklins though are still the shite.

For me, the best in the state are:

Bourque's - Port Barre

Billy's - Krotz Springs/Opelousas

Don's - Scott/Carencro

I did have a link of smoked boudin at a gas station right off the Lobdell exit the other day that was pretty damn good. No idea what the name of the place is, though.

I've tried several of the listed winners and most are quite good. I do have to echo the idea that Poche's would rank among the best of these. Maybe I'm biased as I spent part of my childhood in the Breaux Bridge/Henderson area and I have a lot of fond memories of the place.

Best Stop and Dons have always been my staple. However I lean towards Dons more and more due to fresh cracklins always available and the reg boudin is consistent. I do drive to Best Stop to get the smoked boudin though which I always found consistent.

If you're around ville platte, on the way to Chicot State Park, you'll see K&B grocery and meats, 1215 W Lincoln.. if you like Bourque's as much as I do.. K&B will be in your top choices.. and while you in ville platte, it's worth the trip to Wheelo's Grocery on the Chatagnier Hwy.. best cracklins in the USA..

also not mentioned thus far is the boudin at Spot's Corner, 3955 Hwy 190 in Elton.

Are you talking about the shitty grocery store?

Yes, the Market Basket grocery store in Lake Charles off of Lake and Country Club makes some damn good boudin.

And to Tigerup07, yes, my ole man does post here from time to time. He's DaddyGriff.
