The perfect smoker & grill doesn’t exist…….

So I have an idea that someone needs to capitalize on and make millions off of. All I ask is for is a beta test version, a production model, and modest royalties so that I can retire.
Design and build a BGE, PrimoXL, or other ceramic style smoker with a removable swing door that accesses the fire box. Preferably a ceramic insert that is on a hinge and can be swiveled out for easy access.

A good offset. Best end result as a smoker, and can grill in the fire box.

My Monolith grill has access to the firebox. It's small and can only add wood chips.

I bought this last year in 1/4" steel. It will outlast me for sure.
Reverse flow offset smoker
Air vent for the main chamber opposite side of the firebox for main chamber direct grilling
Propane burner welded on the side

Overthinking it big time.
The Masterbuilt gravity feed does what you're looking for, smokes low and slow and gets up to 700 degrees for grilling. Most higher end pellet grills can pull this off as well.

Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800.

As much as I like my homemade SS smoker, I do like that gravity feed. I'm thinking the one at Academy, with a few modifications, might be golden.

If you're referring to the Old Country, I have one and have been enjoying it. I'm using a Fireboard 2 for control, been working great.

I had a 560. Loved it until the controller started flaking out on me. I did some mods but still had issues. I gave up on it after it ruined a 16lb brisket I had on it overnight and the controller stopped powering the fan.
I have a Oklahoma joe Bandera on its way. I am going back to offset stick burner. I also have a hastybake Legacy that I do steaks, burgers etc.

My custom built idea isn’t mobile , but it’s better. Inverted T. Fireplace. Grill. Slide doors to smoking chamber. Double walled with ceramic fiber/wool. Grill top is on a hand crank to raise and lower, with “U” style individual grill slats to allow grease run to one side. Then runs to a collection bucket. Combo brick , aluminum (smoking chamber walls , and stainless steel). Smoking chamber is vertical on the back side of the chimney. Left side of T is grill. Middle is fire place. Right is a hole for stacking wood.

I'm on year 4 of my bandera. Definitely versatile and easy. I use only wood, seasoned cherry, maple, or oak depending on meat. I do wish the smoker box was a little bit wider, but it works. A brisket usually touches the side or door at first and shrinks back as it cooks.
