Good post. I'll have to give Bourque’s another chance. Tried it once many years ago and thought it was just okay.

Same here. But Bourque's is my favorite sausage (hot pork) to cook with, as well as their andouille. Their hamburger is also OUTSTANDING ( on jalapeno sausage bun). I've had all of the boudin in the triangle from Mamou/Crowley/Breaux Bridge (can't speak for the places east of the basin bridge). Don's and The Best Stop for us are always the top 2. Billy's is good too, but casing is tougher and taste is just a little below the other 2. Kartchner's boudin, well, no one in our entire family (all from Lafayette area) care for it at all. We've tried it multiple times, but it tastes like rice and gravy in casing and pales in comparison to the others. Now, their boudin ball ( jalapeno cream cheese) is the best of them all. It has Billy's friend chicken texture with a better overall taste. NuNu's is not bad but not on par with Don's or The Best Stop. Johnson's Boucaniere has good boudin as well. Hadn't tasted Billeaud's in a long time. Earl's doesn't tast the same since the old man sold the store several years ago (hamburger patties are great).

Legnon's in New Iberia is pretty dang good. The boudin goes down the further east you go.

Yeah Legnon's was really the only one that popped up without me having to go further North/West. Nothing further East along that route really stood out. Thanks!

Anybody have any other recommendations that I didn't get last time?

Check out Bosco's on 190 near Opelousas....
Very good products and a pretty damn strong Bourbon selection and the owner is a pretty cool dude.

They sell freshly-made burgers at Bourque's? I was unaware of that. I'll definitely grab one next time I'm there. I agree about Kartchners - the boudin is pretty average but their jalapeno/cream chese balls are my favorite.

G and M meat market in Jeanerette makes great boudin. Pick up some cracklings while you are there, you won't be disappointed

I'll add it to my list. I almost went today, but I just didn't have the energy. Probably will be sometime in July.

I see Hebert's is not on your list. I agree, skip it altogether.

That is unless you like pulled pork with no rice in a casing.

Heberts boudin is the worst. Not worth a stop at all.

I hate reading your thread!
I am so hangry by the end

So glad more places are starting to ship out of state.
Might order some Billys this week.

Homsis opened in the old Hacketts location on Hwy 14.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I've never been to that location.
