Just wondering the best way and what the thaw time may be. Picked some up on sale a while back and was my first time freezing one. I am thinking about 2 days in fridge? Thanks in advance!

Definitely give it more than 2 days, I'd go 3-4 to be safe. I thawed a 7-8 pound butt last month that was still a rock after 48 hours

A single butt around 8-10 lbs. will defrost in 2 days in the fridge. I've done it many times.

Even better then. You can get a jump start on the defrost by filling your sink with cold water and putting the butt in there while still vacuum packed for several hours, then put it in the fridge.

I’ll get slammed for this but, I have thrown my frozen vacuum packed butt or chicken breast in my pool many times. I check every 5-10 minutes. I pull it when it’s still very cold and never had a problem.

A sink full of water works just fine

Inground pool.

This is not the way the FDA suggest to thaw meat properly however, in a pinch it works well.
