This is important as the turkey IMHO. I did this one last year and it was amazing. I just made it again tonight. It's ready to be reheated and add the final ingredients Thursday.

frick all that. I'm making giblet gravy with boiled eggs in it like my dad's been doing for years.

This holiday is deeply rooted in tradition and family. I hope yours is as good as his.

One thing I like to do is a mock turkey gravy by frying store bought rotisserie pieces first.

I do a turkey gravy from the pan juices. I can’t say there’s a recipe I just do it and it turns out the same every year. Just experience I guess?

Sounds delicious but way too much work.

I use the pouch of gravy that comes with the bird and add flour an turkey drippings...always comes out good

Giblet gravy is the tradition here.

I did the BA one last year and I will not do it again this year. Yes, it was delicious. Very, very delicious. And yes, it was nice to have the gravy finished the night before. But it had a surprisingly small yield - I don't know if it made its way around the table.

What I will do: add the MSG that I have leftover to the gravy. (I put MSG in a lot of things now-a-days).

I’ll have to document my family’s gravy this year. It’s a drippings gravy with no flour.

Would love it if someone would share their recipe other than the OP.

Do most just take drippings and cook on low and add flour to thicken?

When injecting a turkey and then seasoning the outside drippings tend to be somewhat salty. I buy turkey necks separately and roast them then make a stock which gets strained, seasoned to taste and then thickened to make my gravy. I usually have to make extra because they love it so much here. Started with half gallon of stock to make into gravy and ended up with only half that in gravy. Should've made more but I used another half gallon to make my injection liquid for two turkeys.
