Texas Roadhouse is good for what it is. Better than outback.

I haven’t been to Texas Roadhouse in probably 15 years, not because I’m pretentious about the place but because I can never get a table. The one in Lafayette is constantly packed, we stopped at 5:15 on a weeknight and were told about an hour wait. It’s probably the highest revenuing restaurant in town.

They locate on expensive real estate.

Yep. They typically follow Chick-fil-A around since they spend the most in surveying locations. The Lafayette restaurant was just under a mile from CFA until they moved locations last year.

All the other places claim they barely pay the bills but Roadhouse holds that line. The concept of driving demand makes a lot of sense. It’s ballsy but it works for them

Definitely does. It's been 10+ years since I worked there, but the corporate office always seemed to be solid and I think that there's plenty of evidence to show that hasn't really changed, even with the recent passing of the founder.

It's intentional to drive up demand and it works.

I guess it does. Seems odd to me that someone would be driven to get roadhouse at dinner just bc they couldn’t get it for lunch but what do I know

Fun fact (IIRC). The founders of Logan's and TRH (rip) were working together to start up a steakhouse together, but couldn't agree on layout or business model so each started his own. We nearly had a world without one of the two restaurants at all.

Never knew that. Logan’s is a little more generic in my mind than Outback as far as concept but I don’t think there’s a big difference in the food.

I did have some crappy Outback meals a few years ago so I switched to Roadhouse and it’s always good. I’m pretty low rent though.

That cinnamon butter and bread from roadhouse is what convinced me I couldn’t stick to a keto diet

Now I have to go to Logan’s for my own decision. Never once have I gone there which is odd now that I think about it.

It’s funny that they use CFA concepts. Two businesses with many competitors who find a way to excel in their chosen space

It’s only in the last few years that Outback started a weekday lunch

I like Texas Roadhouse but the one on the Westbank refuses to seat groups larger than 8. So it’s basically a no go for family outings birthdays after games etc.

Which is a shame because it’s it’s reasonably priced and good food

Well he called his wife his old lady so that was a bright signal there.

How does a low-end steakhouse survive without lunch service?

You're right. It's low end. I don't know why everyone's so sore at you over it.

The one in Butler,PA is our meeting spot whenever I go back up home to see my cousins.

I was there in March, will be there again over Xmas

And don't bash the Roadhouse. Their free bread is the shite.
