One of the highlights of the place.

Also you can request the meat cooked to a certain temp too. Been a while since I have been dont find the price to be worth it when paying full price and they stopped the 2 for 1 specials it seemed. Their new card promotion the last 1.5 years is one of the most retarded promotions I have ever heard of.

You mean the VIP card? Where you pay $60 for 12 half price meals? Close enough to 2 for 1 (basically adding $5 to the meal to distribute the price of the card across the 12 meals.) Last night's bill was $65 including 2 desserts, before tip. For what we got that was a steal compared to the normal price of it going +100.

Yes that retarded special.. TWELVE meals? Plus it expires in Sept. So you have to make 6 visits in less than a year. Only valid Sun-Thurs

So thats costing you 50% of the meal PLUS 10 dollars. And thats IF you go 6 times for 2 people. This is a place you go maybe 2 times a year at most. Otherwise your arteries will hate you. Most people already have the birthday offer as well thats 2 times a year for couples as it is and you dont have to pay for it.

Have you been to La Boca in New Orleans? Another South American steak joint but a different concept.

Sure have. Great place very small, like everything else in NO. Tied for the best steak I've had period, I got the t-bone. I go back and forth between that steak and Sullivan's porterhouse.

Only time I would say the price is worthy is if you get a by 1 get 1 for your birthday. That way it's only $50 for 2 meals and not $100.

I went last year for my bday and had a great time. Gf enjoyed it as well but isn't a big fan on endless meat feasts. I'd like to go back one day though.

Guess I should clarify I only go when it's half price. I think everyone should experience it at least once. So far the only complaints I'm hearing is about the price (understandable at full price), not so much the food.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite places in N.O. I will take La Boca all day long over any of the all you can eat meat places.

I draw a distinction between steaks when it comes to TDB and other steak houses. I cannot rank TDB on steaks as they're more like samples of individual cuts of meat vs a whole steak at La Boca or Sullivans etc. Hard for me to explain but I put them in separate categories.

La Boca is best done family style. They'll slice all the steak choices and lay them out if you ask them. Really makes the experience better...such a small place and everyone interacting in a 'family' meal. It's great to have one person do the ordering...apps, wine, sides, steaks...everyone else just eat and enjoy. So different, although we do the same at Delmonicos.
