re: Tacos for tailgate?

I know this, I make tacos for my daughter (only her) every Tuesday night. I buy a half a pound of ground meat and it makes her 4 tacos rolled in around 8 inch tortillas. She is 9 so they may not be real big but you get the idea.

1/2 pound per person is too much. Does 81 include women and children? Other food at tailgate?
agree
2 8-10 lb butts would be more than enough

She eats two for dinner, one the next day at school for lunch and the rest of the meat which would make one ore gets thrown away.

Sure you can see where I was confused

Ask you butcher for flap meat (I think it's also called sirloin tip). Simple seasoning of your choice and a quick hot sear on both sides is all you need. Chop and serve. Quick, cheap, and really good.

Not really.

Sure I did. A half pound produces around 4 tacos. Therefore, if you think each adult will eat four tacos you will need a half a pound for each person. If he thinks they will eat two tacos then he needs a quarter of a pound for each person. Pretty simple logic, really.
ETA: He did not ask about one meal, he asked about one person.

Yes and apparently a Janky

Yes, 10lbs of boudin, chips dips, and lots of desserts. Also, this is grazing eating.

Right, but you said 1/2 # for your 9 year old, not noting that that covers the child for 2-3 meals. Read at face value I would think, well, if half a pound feeds a 9 year old for one meal, we'll need at least a pound per person.
The part of your post that was missing is "and that feeds her for (insert meal #)." Without that context your post was meaningless.

Number of meals is irrelevant. How many tacos a half pound yields is all that matters.
You know what, forget about it. I am willing to bet a Chappy understood.

1/2 pound makes 4 tacos, but it read like your 9YO eats 4 tacos in one sitting
The original question was how much meat, not how many tacos.
The filling factor of tacos will vary by how full they are.

If I were to say that my girlfriend and I make 25 pounds, and that makes 150 tacos...would it not be relevant to note if that feeds us two adults for 1 meal or 75? Kind of an important point if you ask me, as he was asking how much meat for 80 people for one meal.
If I were a betting man (and I am), I'd put money on him taking your first post the same way I did, which was that your 9 year old eats 4 tacos in one sitting. And he'd way overshoot the amount of meat.
