Looks like it’s in with Bateau’s Seafood. Cracklings are to die for. Didn’t know it was a separate biz.

Just stop by. You're only putting maybe $3 at risk for a link to go. You let us know.

It's worth a stop for sure. Little ricey for my liking but it was good. Crackling was great. Took a couple of his sausages home to cook, those were only ok.

I'd recommend stopping in there. I've gone out of my way twice to visit. His plate lunches and salads are fresh and good. Head cheese is good stuff. I used the smoked boudin in a dip and it was excellent. Used his chaurice in beans and it was good. Andouille was different than I am used to but not bad. Used the italian sausage with spaghetti over the weekend and I liked it a lot. Shrimp salad is very good plus you can get stuff at Bateaus in the same trip. Got some of the country ham in the freezer just haven't had a reason to thaw it out yet.

If that's the case it's probably good. Bateau's is legit.

Cracklings were burnt arse for me

Headcheese, boudin, boudin balls and egg rolls were good, though.

Went the other day and I'm sorry to report that it's pretty disappointing. Granted, I'm from Lafayette and my standards are high.

The smoked boudin had the bitter flavor imparted by "dirty" smoke on an offset. Lot of rice in that mix.

The balls and wraps were not fresh or warm. Room temperature and stale. Again, tons of rice.

Guess I'll keep buying the vac packed Best Stop at Rouses.

If one of the Laplace andouille giants set up shop on the Northshore they would make millions, damn shame you can’t buy decent andouille up here.

there was a lot of rice in mind too. Also a strong lard flavor I didn’t care for

Red beans and corn and crab bisque out of the grab and go was good though
