After trying a few more sushi places

Asuka has been horrible every time I’ve had it

Mikimoto is the most consistent and above average.

Sushi Brothers is probably my favorite.

Shogun actually has delicious sushi

Kanno is the best, and it's really not close.

Live in BR, but we try to hit this joint up when we head that way. Haven’t tried the umami place here, but it’s the best I’ve had in this state. B/c I don’t frequent it often this may be wrong but everytime I’ve been, there seems to be specials that you (at least I) don’t see often. Last time was blue fin and amber jack collar.

IMO Sake Don on Jefferson Hwy. across from Jefferson Feed is consistently excellent.

I've never been to Kanno so I can't compare but Luvi has been phenomenal both times I have gone. I recommend getting the "Feed Me" all raw dishes. The other feed me option has 2 cooked dishes, a smoked fish and a crab and pork belly meatball in a broth, that while good don't hold a candle to the raw items.

I've been to Kanno and it was very good but also kind of pricey from what I remember...other than that...maybe I ordered wrong but I wasn't blown away. I like Sushi Brothers.

I pass by Sake Don all the time and always have fun saying the name to myself in my truck haha....I'll have to give it a shot.

Luvi is great, but it’s not really sushi. They have a raw selection, but no nigiri.

You are right, Kanno is on the high side but worth it.

What’s good at Kanno?
I went And wasn’t super impressed.

I usually get the tuna box everywhere

Their crab salad is pretty lacking.

Their daily specials. Runs out pretty quickly.

love an appetizer they do, seafood delight, broiled.

Origami on Freret is my go-to. It's the litte brother of the Kyoto that used to be on Prytania (RIP).
