Looking at Sushi Masa and Sushi Yami. Can anyone tell me if these places have bright lights inside. Trying to find a place that the lighting isn’t bright.

I guess I would say theyre lit up like a normal place. If youre looking for a dimly lit sushi place, walk next door to Ichiban. Its definitely better than Masa and on par with Yama.

Is this a date night or something?

It is a date night. We don’t like lots of light. Is that weird?

No. I would definitely go next door to Ichiban. People will come on here and say Yama has better food, but I wouldnt call the atmosphere in there 'date night'.

It's a little strange, yes. I think you can ask for booth or table in the back if that's your thing though. Either place should work with y'all.

Definitely a little odd if that’s your deciding factor.

Not at all. Just looking for something with less lighting. Don’t really care for bright restaurants.

Go to Tsunami. Great atmosphere, not too bright, and a guaranteed panty-dropper.

Tsunami has the best atmosphere by far. Their sushi is solid. Some say yama is better overall, but personally, I prefer Tsunami's rolls.

Yama has great sushi, but its atmosphere is certainly lacking.

Sushi Masa is quantity over quality. I wouldn't say they have a great atmosphere, but it's not as bright in there as Yama. If this is more of a gluttonous date than a romantic one, this could be for you.

Ichiban sucks

They’ve been in business for years, have consistent crowds, and put out a quality product. To each his own, but they certainly don’t suck.

Sushi Yama has good food but it feels like a nice cafeteria in there. I get why you wouldn’t want that atmosphere for date night.

Ichiban is very close to being too dimly lit. If you go at lunch and sit in the back, all you have to work with is whatever light is coming from the windows.
