Sugar in your rib rub

Do y'all put sugar in your rib rub?
Pork ribs, if so, brown or white? I see recipes that call for none. Some that use both, etc.
I use Bad Byron's on my ribs and there is no sugar in it.

I use Oakridge Dominator and it has Raw cane sugar and granulated honey as well.

I like rubs with sugar in them for ribs. There is a lot of debate as to what kind of sugar is best. Some forego sugar in rub, but use honey or sweeter sauce for the sugar component.

I put brown sugar in mine. I rarely use white sugar for anything, but I'm sure it is fine.

I use brown sugar, but dont actually put it in the rub.
Just put it on separately.
Just so it doesnt clump up in the pantry and stuff like brown sugar tends to do.

Do y'all wrap your ribs?

No wrap on my ribs, I like a little texture to them I wrapped when I first started but the ribs seemed to get mushy.

I use bad Byron's as well. Mix brown sugar in with it and rub the ribs with mustard mixed with LA red dot hot sauce before applying the dry rub.
Eta: no wrap. I usually spray any pork I'm smoking with a 50/50 mix of apple juice and apple cider vinegar

I use a variation of this. Mine has some of both brown and white. He also now says not to put salt in the dust but frick that. I want salt in there.

I apply brown sugar much later in the process, sugars tend to burn and turn bitter. JMHO

I wrapped the ribs I did last night in butcher paper, and lost a bit of color and bark from it. So next time I may actually just start them earlier and let them go.

I little brown but mostly turbinado.

I make a hot and spicy rub with mostly chipotle but with some cayenne and habanero mixed in. I use a blend of turbinado and brown sugar to balance out the heat. For more mild rubs I don't use sugar.

I been using the houwtobbqright stuff from Malcolm Reed. I put salt and pepper and then his rub. When I go to wrap the ribs (I like to wrap in foil) I lay a layer of brown sugar, butter, and honey. Meat side down and then a stripe of his vinegar BBQ sauce then wrap. Have been pleased it it.

Brown sugar in the rub. For babybacks I go 2 (open smoke), 2 (wrapped), 1 (open smoke).

This is the rub I used most of the time although I am a fan of simple S&P...white sugar, never wrap.
1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup kosher salt, finely ground
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons mustard powder
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup ground cumin
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
1/4 cup granulated garlic
2 tablespoons cayenne

1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons mustard powder
