Question for bartenders/Mexican restaurant servers/etc.

I'm having a little surprise party for my wife (no pics) and we are getting a margarita machine. Problem is that they don't do strawberry margs. What is that strawberry syrup they use in Mexican restaurants? And where the hell can I get it?

Thanks in advance.

Awesome... Yes. That's what I'm looking for.

But what if the party is tomorrow?

World Market normally has a pretty wide selection. William's Sonoma and Bed Bath and Beyond normally have some too.

I refuse to use any of the bottled marg mixes. Fresh fruit, maybe some OJ, simple syrup, lime juice, strawberries... blend, enjoy.

Doing mango, mint, jalapeno margs tomorrow. Will check them in.

Yep, best practice is to mash and reduce fresh strawberries with some water and sugar. If OP needs the syrup, Depot usually has a broad range of Torani flavors.

Just went by BB&B and they had caramel and vanilla, and other Starbucks/Skinny syrups. Sounds like mashing strawberries up might be easier.

How much water/sugar do you use to make it?

You can eyeball it. Hard to screw up. Anytime I buy strawberries, I throw them into a ziplock in the fridge with sugar and it turns to a sludge overnight. Very easy. You barley even need to mash.
