It's my understanding that the fat composition from grass fed beef is one of the main health benefits of using grass fed over regular.

This is kind of what I was thinking too, but the responses are all over the place. We ate the fat and the spaghetti was way better than normal.

Nothing "bad" about it. Though, if you are trying to eat healthier, draining it is an easy way to knock the calories down some or lean up a fattier mix of ground beef. Depending on what you are using it for, it may not mix well and cause things to be overly greasy/oily, so that would be another reason to drain.

If i'm making some taco meat, I usually don't drain it and mix in the taco seasoning with it. If it needs a little water i'll add but it won't need as much.

All beef is grass fed, just a select few are finished with grain. It's too expensive to let them eat anything but grass.

Its personal preference. I drain off the excess.

If it is a lot, strain it. Put a piece of foil in the sink drain and pour it in there. It will congeal in a few minutes and wad it it up and throw it away.

I strain it in a bowl and then drizzle a little on my dogs food and throw the rest out.

Mix 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in the ground beef and let it rest for 15 minutes before cooking. It reduces the amount of juices released when cooking ground beef and helps lock in the moisture.

I've done this for years and it doesn't affect the taste of the meat.

You should brown your ground beef, not boil it or steam it. If there is liquid, whether water or fat, you haven't browned it. You should not have to drain anything. Browning ground beef should be at high temp until it gets crusty, then you lower the temp after the liquid is evaporated. You will need to break it up during this time. If you're impatient and want steamed ground meat, then drain it. If you want flavor, let it brown.
