Going to visit my stepson in Austin and have narrowed it down to these 4 BBQ joints. Problem is, we'll only have time to go to 2. Which ones are best?

i eat at rudy's every time i pass thru houston/san antonio. it gets looked down on as its a chain but the meats are excellent as well as the sides.

the creamed corn is worth the trip

I would definitely go to Stile's. I've been to Black's in Lockhart and was underwhelemed.

Rudy's on hwy 360 is very good though for what it is.

Never been to Slab.

I'd look at Mickelthwaite and La BBQ (but you'll want to get there early).

What about Franklin's? He is the king of Texas BBQ.

Not sure why Rudys is on there.

Slab is mostly just ribs that are sauced up with strawberry jam

Terry Blacks and Stiles Switch are the best on your list.

I'd add Mickelthwait And Kerlin for pretty god stuff without a line (or a big one)

4 hours in line is hardly worth it

I'm really looking for sit-down places, not food trucks or trailers. Also I'm not waiting in any long-arse lines.

Valentina's the best and they recently opened a brick and mortar, but you'll have to head waaayyyy south.

Worth it.

Are you sure they're open? Website says this: WE WILL BE SERVING OUT OF THE TRAILER WHILE WE WORK ON RENOVATING
THE BUILDING TO BECOME OUR NEW RESTAURANT BY THE END OF 2017.

Yeah, they're definitely open, but I guess they're still transitioning. Their brisket is incredible, and get a beef rib!

Save room for a taco, too...their tortillas are made in house and are incredible. Basic brisket taco is the best but if they have the Vaquero on special, get that.

Valentina's really is the best in town, and sorely underrated.

It's where Aaron Franklin gets HIS BBQ.

I go to Slab on my lunch break sometimes. They have a lot of good bbq sandwiches and the brisket nachos are a favorite as well.

I really like Stiles, good brisket, sausage, and sides. Plus it's the pool hall from Dazed and Confused.

Rudys is always solid. Not the best, but never bad. Very consistent and quick.

I haven't tried Slab yet, reviews look good and it's not too far from my place. I may have it for dinner tonight.

Been to Stiles a couple times and it's good but I wouldn't say it's significantly better than the Rudy's near that shopping mall. Those are the only two of those four I've been to. Rudy's extra moist is better than anything I've had in LA.

Louie Muellers BBQ in Taylor Texas is close to Austin
and a very worthwhile trip.
