Who is making best fruited sours and berlinners? I pick that area

North Carolina puts out some great sours

Louisiana is not in the conversation amoung the others listed. It’s certainly gaining steam but other states have a much farther head start and less roadblocks (which is crazy considering NO is a drinking town).
Midwest has some heavy hitters. Founders has a great mix of mass distribution and diserable limited releases. Bells has one of the best beers that you can get almost anywhere that serves more than a few beers. Pipeworks puts out great stuff too.

Here's the difference between Oregon and Colorado, IMO.
Both states have great beers across the spectrum (not just IPAs). If you want to say that Comrade is better than Barley Browns or that Casey is better than De Garde, that's fine. But Oregon's beer culture is so ingrained in the community to a level that I don't see it in Colorado. I'm talking about taprooms, grocery stores, beer festivals, etc.
I don't have to go far to find a great taproom in Oregon - hell, there's probably one in my grocery store. Ditto for restaurants. Many fine restaurants offer curated beer bottle lists for beer as well as wine.
It may have to do with the local hop crops, but beer is more important to the community in Portland than it is in Denver.
I suspect that Vermont also has a beer centric culture, as well.

Vermont is certainly beer-centric.
I’ve never been to Oregon but hear nothing but good things about their beer scene.
I know this is anecdotal, but a friend of mine who is originally from CO, moved to Boston, then back to CO, said he really misses the beer from New England.
But he sent me some Casey and that was good stuff.

BTW, LA has come a long way in the last 3 years. Having said that, if you haven't been to MA, OR, CO, ME, or VT on the last 3 years, you probably would be blown away by the change there, as well.
As evidence, 2 years ago, Heady Topper was the be all end all of IPAs on this board. If you posted a Focal Banger, you were the star of the board. Today, nobody even looks twice...

You’re right.
Honestly, The Alchemist has lost its luster after it opened their massive brewery.
Still decent beer, but meh. Who cares.

I don't come out and say this because it's all subjective, but New England makes better NE style beers than CO and probably just better IPAs in general. I believe Oregon does, as well.
Colorado has a very well rounded beer portfolio and has to be right up there, though.

But I'm sure that several other small batch breweries have stepped in and are keeping the beer geeks happy...

I’m not as familiar with CO microbrews, but I know they are a top five State hands down. Again, just an anecdotal story.
And yes, plenty of great breweries that don’t have the name recognition of Alchemist but are frankly better. Foam Brewery in Burlington is insane.

Crooked Stave out of Denver makes some of the best sours I've ever had. Didn't make it to Cascade when I went to Portland last summer for the craft brewer's festival, but I'm making it there in a few months when we go.

Check out De Garde, Ruse, Ale Apothecary, Culmination, Great Notion, Upright, Logsdon, Alesong, and Block 15 for sours, as well.

What the hell does Florida have besides Cigar City?
Missouri is really underrated if you include all of the Kansas City area in it. St. Louis has multiple really good breweries and KC does as well.
