Forgive me if there’s a “recent” board on this... anyone been to the new Stabs recently after any “opening week” kinks, pros / cons? TIA

went for lunch about 2 weeks ago. expensive and not memorable. place was empty. got the softshell crab poboy and it was ok. maybe they make a mean steak, but not sure i will try for dinner, given lunch, with no alcohol or apps, was nearly $30 per person.

You can eat there cheaper than that for lunch and brunch but yeah it is pricy. Their brunch is their best offering food and price wise in my opinion. Their steaks are way overpriced. I can make a very comparable if not better steak than anyone in town for half the price at my house.

Yep. And we opted for the lower end options.

What's it like inside?

I'll likely never eat there, but I'm curious for whoever takes over the space

They sat us in the bar area. Didn't get to see the rest. Nothing spectacular.

Went for dinner back in November and really enjoyed the food. Service was great.

Try it for yourself. Unless there is an overwhelming negative opinion, give it a shot. Some people here are snobs, others just really picky.

It's pricey, but you know that going in. So if people.complain it's their own fault.

$30 for lunch is too much. didn't hit my pocket as the company picked it up, but i almost feel guilty for expensing it. i'm not a snob, nor very picky, just think there are better choices for half the cost.

Went for a nice dinner date about a month ago. Restaurant decor and ambience are forgettable - though the bar area was much better. I ordered the bone in filet and thought it was excellent. Not cheap but very very good. Lady friend was impr seed with the steak quality as well. I forget the name of the appetizer but it was broiled oyster and it was fantastic. Another positive I thought was that it’s not the type of restaurant where everything is packed in tight and it gets really noisy - dining area was spacious, low key, and comfortable. The manager there, Kevin is a good guy and will make sure you enjoy your evening.

A buddy of mine is one of the cooks. Anyone who eats there is in very good hands.

I enjoyed my trip there also. I agree that Kevin is an ace manager. He bends over backwards to make folks happy.
