I think the food at the Bulldog is crap too...though not as bad as BBG.

I would be happy if they had enough beer taps to justify being called a beer garden.
agreed on both counts.
hey did have SW 420 on tap, which is what I drank all day.

Even their bottle selection is weak for a beer garden title.

Good thing they don't use Grill or Cafe in the name.

Madigan's doesn't show LSU games. They are a Notre Dame bar.

and doesn't Madigan's have just that one small TV tucked away in the front corner?
Posted on 10/15/13 at 1:10 pm to Rohan2Reed
I haven't been to Madigan's since the 90's.

You could eat at Parkway and then go to Bayou Beer Garden.
"Lively", "Sports bar", and "good scotch"... not sure this place exists.

True. Finn's would probably be as close to that as any place in New Orleans.

I have watched an LSU game at Madigans outside on the projector. Also they have either 3 or 4 TVs above the main bar.
Nikinik, I didn't say the food at the Bulldog was good, but it's 10x better than the slop at BBG.
Finn's is way too damn smokey for me. Too many chimney smokers in there like Glassman.

bump for DEAN
I'd also recommend Monkey Hill...meh beer selection but great for cocktails and hooch.
Food is good bar food but get there early as you will find limited but comfortable seating (couches)

Not sure I would call it a sports bar?
This is a reach.
I still think Rusty Nail is the easy winner. Only drawback is the arsehole bama fans on a game day.
