Does anyone else think chip freshness plays a big role in this? I will argue there is literally no better chip than a fresh Dorito.

In no order my 5 would be

Doritos, sour cream and cheddar Ruffles, sour cream and onion zapps, plain lays, Cheetos puffs.

I could never put mine in a particular order because I could get a hankering for one flavor/ type over another at any given time for many reasons. That said, my favs are:

Kettle chips Buffalo Blue
Zapp's Creole Sour Cream and Onion, Craw Taters, Dill Pickle
Lay's Sour Cream and Onion
Frito's Honey BBQ Twists and Chili Cheese
Cheez-it Hot & Spicy w/ Tabasco

Honorable Mention
Andy Capp's Hot Fries
Doritos Cool Ranch

Lost points from me when they eliminated the sesame sticks.

Top 5 in no particular order (I'm a fan of heat):

Golden Flake Hot
Zapps Creole Tomato - No longer made
Zapps Voodoo Heat
Doritos 2nd Degree Burn - Fiery Buffalo - No longer made
Cheetos Hot Fries
