Wife and I have stopped and had a few beers/wings their a couple of times. Food is actually pretty dang good and I really like the atmosphere but I am trashy and love dive bars.
On a side note I have been telling my wife since we moved here that a specialty hot dog joint would absolutely kill it downtown. Wish I had the capital. I love to cook and my wife's background is in restaurant management.

That would be the problem. I like the idea of have lots of different types of handcrafted sausages and also doing all the regional types from across the US and around the world. That way there is always something new to try.

I don't know what specifically goes into a great hotdog place but i just love this spot.

Hot dog restaurants generally fall in the category of Peanut Butter and Jelly restaurants. In other words, it's a simple comfort food that I can eat at home for way less money.
Nevertheless, I have enjoyed Dat Dog tremendously. I like the alligator sausage dog. Also, the buns (or rolls if you prefer) at Dat Dog are really great. If I could find those buns, I'd be making them at my house and never go back to a hot dog place again.
