How do you like your chili? Some prefer hot while I prefer to taste the tomatoes. There are tons of great chili recipes out there. The ingredients are pretty basic.

Here's 3:

Chef George's Famous Hot Dog Chili

Authentic New Orleans Hot Dog Chili is authentic New Orleans Chili as in the chili in a tube from Schotts in the cold cut case. This is what all of the Poor Boy joints used in the day. Just follow the directions on the package maybe add a little tabasco and/or Tony Chacere's.

1 lb ground meat
1 pk McCormick chili powder
16 oz tomato sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 Tbs olive oil

1. Spray pot and brown meat. Set aside on paper towel to drain fat

2. Pour out any fat from pot,add olive oil and saute onion till soft

3. Add meat back in, mix well, add tomato sauce and mix again

4. Add pk. of Mccormick, mix, and simmer 10 minutes.

5. Let sit a while to let flavors meld

6. Put weiners directly in chili and heat gently until the weinies get puffy.

7. Load weinies and chili on bun or even try French bread with your choice of condiments.

Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce

1 1/2 cup water
2 1/2 tsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

1. Brown ground beef and mash into very fine pieces. Add the rest ofthe ingredients and simmer 15 minutes.

2. Additional tomato juice orwater for thinner consistency. Spoon on hot dogs over minced onions.

Chef George’s chili is literally Mccormick chili. That is how the pack tells you how to make it.
