Is well below average.

Unseasoned room temp catfish.

Not so great service.

$60 for an adult fried catfish chip, kids filet, kids shrimp which had 8 shrimp 36-40 count size, and a seafood salad 3 soft drinks and a water.

I can honestly get better catfish from a gas station near my office for under $7

Have not been in about a year. The catfish chips are usually pretty solid as are the frog legs. I was never much on thier whole catfish filet.

Very good bloody marys as well ..

ETA : and that's cheap considering that's enough food for five or six people.

I still think its good but it just isn't the same since it burned down.

Middendorf's > Spahrs.

Without a doubt.

Spahrs can be pretty good, but they're rather hit or miss. On their worst day, Middendorfs will be better than Spahrs on their best, though. Of course, Middendorfs is about as consistent a place as there is.

Absolutely agree. Only purpose it serves is (when I was into this kind of thing . . . long, long ago . . . ) is to meet your bayou coke connection. Or that's what I heard. Have no idea why I brought that up on a message board but that's the only thing that comes to mind when I think of Spahrs.

Back in the 90s the place was awesome... had some of the best bartenders... Gerard, Scott, and Chad come to mind. But since it burned down and the grandson took over, it's gone downhill. I still like it, but it's not as good as it was.

The memory of it was great, have not been in decades, I have no idea what it is now. It used to be one of my favorite foodie road trips.

My friends are the owners. Ill make them aware. With 3 stores now the attention to detail may be lagging.

It is no where as good as it was prior to fire.
Catfish in De Allemands should ALWAYS be fresh and good.
