Going to NOLA for a long weekend in a couple of weeks for a wedding and have some specific questions that maybe some of y'all can help me with since I know you all love these threads.

So here we go:

- I need dinner for 2 couples on Thursday night. I'm thinking Peche. Give me some place nearby that we can go to afterwards for drinks.

- We are staying on Magazine (lower Garden District). Anywhere I can walk to get a good cup of coffee and breakfast?

- Shaya for lunch on Friday - how crowded does it get? Will we be able to walk right in or will it be a significant wait?

- Rehearsal dinner at Bourbon House...what can I expect?

- Saturday during the day, me and one of the other bridesmaids husbands will be by ourselves while the girls do their pre-wedding stuff. Where can we go to watch football, drink, and eat? Does NOLA taproom have TVs?

NOLA does have TVs and McClure's BBQ has a spot inside the tap room.

This could go many different ways. Dressy/casual/nice jeans? Restaurant bar or bar/bar?

Mediocre to disappointing for dinner service usually.

If it's a nice day, Blind Pelican doesn't have great food, but it's a nice spot for a bar app and some beers. Avenue pub is right there as well.

Rusty Nail would be a good spot too since Bama is off and apparently it's their game watching bar.

District Doughnuts Slider and Brew on Magazine and Jackson.

Hi Volt, but there are tons of options

I would get a reservation, unless you time it right. Either early or late.

Not as bad as people will make it out. It's not Muriel's but it could be a lot worse.

They do, but it's not a sports bar. I guess it depends on how important a game is to you. The good places for games typically don't have good beer so you have to balance out those wants. If it was an LSU game I would have to go to a bar with a better TV set up.

Many FBDers live in that area

The Irish House. It's a half mile away. Enjoy dancing to a few Irish jigs with a couple shots of Jamison and the black stuff.

Perfect! Head on over to The Irish House! If the weather is great, they'll open up the doors and you can watch the streetcar creep on by. You can enjoy your coffee (or perhaps an Irish coffee) and a full Irish breakfast from Chopped champ Matt Murphy.

Holy shite! Well, what could possibly be better than enjoying watching football at The Irish House!? You can catch the games while pounding back the black stuff with some fish 'n chips or take a break and cozy up on their comfy hearth seating area.

ETA: To earnestly answer your questions, Rusty Nail is a great spot for drinks. If you haven't been to the Monteleone's Carousel bar, you need to go. I'm not a big breakfast fan, but head to Slim Goody's on Magazine for classic diner fare, Still Perkin' for just a cup of coffee, or Stein's for a bagel/ District Donuts for...donuts. If you want the traditional New Orleans breakfast/brunch, I'd suggest Surrey's. There is one in the Lower Garden District that isn't as crowded as the uptown Magazine version. Plenty of good spots to catch some games (Rusty Nail, Cooter Brown's, etc). I'm not too sure if Nola Taproom has TV's or not. They didn't when I was living there. If Tracey's has cleaned up their act, I'd highly suggest going there. Some other posters will have to vouch for Tracey's current status.

By the way, the Rendezvous Tavern will have wings on Saturday. Guy will be making them in the back. It's an experiment that I hope carries over.

The one time I won't agree with you, the TV situation is not good at IH.

Honestly, the Irish House really isn't a bad spot at all. If the weather was nice, I'd go there for breakfast (assuming you aren't looking for the full New Orleans brunch).

I thought the TV set up upstairs was pretty good

For drinks after Peche it really depends on what you're looking for. I'd probably go to Courtyard Brewery, but there is also Barrel Proof (bourbon bar) or The Rusty Nail around that area, if you want more than beer options.

As far as coffee goes, I like Corner Muse and French Truck coffee. I'm actually not sure if they offer breakfast, though. I've only had coffee at either of them.

Like I said if it was the LSU game I would have to go to a bar with a better set up. Random football games no biggie. (Same thing for Ave Pub) I've watched an LSU game at NOLA and prefer other places in the neighborhood. I'll sacrifice delicious craft beer for a few hours to watch the Tigers.

this will just be the early games, I wouldn't think that LSU/Bama would be an early game...so just casual watching really

It really depends on what kind of atmosphere you're looking for then. I've been for early games on a Saturday before and it was pretty dead there. I didn't mind that at all, though.

a place where I can casually watch the early games, drink some good beer and not have to listen to idiots yell at TVs sounds perfect

If it's good beer you seek, the answer is Ale on Oak!!!

Rusty Nail is solid too.
