Never been to one. Don't have any around here.

We've got a Sunshine Happy Hippie Health Food Store. It's run by former librarians with really long straight gray hair who have a lot of trouble working the cash register.

We've got specialty food markets or delis but they're the size of my living room.

Is it sorta like Simon-David's in Dallas?

Whole Foods: Worth going in for some items but generally terribly overpriced unless you get the 365 brand stuff.

The bakery at the one in STL made the only legit French bread in the area. That included the French owned bakery out by 270. It is so sad that in-store bakeries have the controls to inject steam into the oven, but the idiots running them don't know what the heck it's for in terms of breads and the crust texture it will impart.

Whole Foods doesn't really exist. It is just a made up name that floats around on the internet to get rednecks pissed off. They love to go off when they read whole foods.
Just go post whole foods on the O-T and watch and see.

All the prepared food is good, sandwiches and pizza and salad bar is excellent.

Meats at the butcher and fish monger are a little more expensive that other grocery stores, but fresher and better quality stuff.

Produce is also very good.

The middle isles are filled with a lot of stuff u can't get other places, some of the items ive picked up have been good, others not so much.

Overall its a great place to go for fresh produce and meats, prepared foods, pizza's and sandwiches. And a place to check for specility items.

I think that people that do all of their shopping there are insane.

Hope this helps.

eta: They also have a huge selection of wines, cheese and baked goods. All that I have tried are fresh and good.

House brand of stuff sold. The olive oil in 1/2 gallon tins is good, and about half the price of others.

LSU-MNCBABY

That sums it up very well.
I might go there a couple of times a month. Love the seafood and butcher areas.

Ah, so 365 refers to 'every day stuff.'
I watched this white rap video mocking Whole Foods. It talked about their small size shopping carts. I'd actually like that. I usually buy about 8 or 9 items which crowds a hand basket but doesn't justify a full size cart.

My Wholefoods in East Dallas just opened a beer and wine bar. They have 5 craft beers on tap and you can buy a growler or 32 oz fliptop bottle to take some home. Other than that WF is expensive but if you can afford it, has very high quality fish, meats, fruits and veggies. They also have a very good craft beer selection and I can ride my bicycle to mine.

Getting Real, which definitely is a hoot. They do have regular carts too. But the mini is good for most shopping in one. One of the original stores that developed into Whole Foods is in NOLA on Esplanade by the Fairgrounds. Back then it was all hippie, all the time.

Hey, it's bad enough that they're about to build a place in Bossier called 'Cheddars'. Bet they have food with cheese on it.

OK, if you're in Dallas then you must have been to Simon-David's. Is it similar? I really liked SD but I don't go to Dallas anymore.
