So Mr Bs is out for rehearsal dinner. Why the high minimums? Any ideas?

Only have 24 people coming to the dinner and Mr Bs wants a 4k minimum.... thats not going to happen. I know I've asked before, but i can't seem to find my thread with other suggestions. So, give me some other places to try. I'm getting married at the Bourbon Orleans and i need something preferably within walking distance....

Exactly what I was going to suggest.

Nope, don't think i tried Muriels... but definitely will give it a look. Mr Bs came with a good recommendation from my neighbor and were the first choice.

Great location. Get the room upstairs with the balcony just outside overlooking Jackson Square. You should be able to work out a reasonably priced menu and the food is very good. Have a drink in the Seance Room. Say hello to the ghost.

You can rent out the upstairs part of Walk Ons.
A friend of mine just did that. Had to mention it.

Antoines has a ton of private rooms that could accommodate that amount of people

Arnaud's has rooms, also. Did you price it for a small group?

Arnauds was one of the first few that I looked at.... but for the life of me I can't remember why I didn't email them. I'll take a look at it again.

Dude, try criollo at hotel Monteleone. It's new and the prices are very reasonable for fine dining. 4k for 24 people is retarded.

What the hell man.... why are the minimums on these places so damn expensive?
I know its good food, but 22 people isn't worth spending a min of $4000 much less the $2500 min from Muriels. Over $100 a head is stupid. Most of these places have small rooms that hold up to 30 people too. I understand the need for the minimum, but for only 22 people wouldn't you be willing to drop it for guaranteed money? Are people willing to pay this much as minimums?

I've been to a few business lunches and dinners at bourbon house for about that size group. They have some rooms upstairs that are nice, and for a large group the food is pretty good. You may be able to negotiate a better price with them.
