Smokers - electric vs propane?

I've never owned a smoker and think I'll get one soon... trying to decide between electric or propane. What's everyone's preference? And smokers I should be on the look out for?

I went with gas, although it has its downfalls. You have the potential to run out of gas during long cooks. I always have backup tanks, but sometimes they'll run out in the middle of the night. I have my Maverick thermometer to alert me if the temp drops, but it's still an issue. Also, you have to lug the canisters back and forth from your exchange or filling place.
A good thing about electric is that some units have a probe that you can put in the meat and it will shut off when it hits your desired temp.
I've heard that gas burns "wetter" than electric, so the food won't dry out as much.
I'm very happy my gas smoker, although it does require some added attention.

It's pretty easy to get the results you want with an electric. I've never done propane, so I can't compare the two. But I can vouch for the simplicity and results from an electric.

Neither, a nice Pellet Smoker.
As easy and painless as an electric smoker, but smokes as good or better than ceramic smokers like the BGE.
I went electric and regret it a lot, pellet is the shite.

My first smoker was a Weber Smoky Mountain. It is charcoal, but easy to maintain temps once you get accustomed to the vents. Highly recommend.

I've got my green egg but my wife gave me the Smokin Tex for Christmas. So far so good. Only 2 ounces of wood and really for me that's almost too much.
