YOu don't think local milk is fresher than milk trucked across the country?

The guys who made cheeses in Mt. hermon left for upstate NY about 15 years ago. 2 of the guys were from Louisiana and the other 2 were from NY and Conn, but I cant remember the name of their company.

Chicory Farm. The cheese was excellent.
Cows must just thrive in Washington Parish! My grandfather had a dairy and raised beef. Products of both were superior.
Read an article recently about several of the dairy farmers in WP producing excellent organic milk, but cannot get any big processors in the state to buy it, so they are shipping it out of state to be processed and it is sold in Publix supermarkets.
Way to utilize resources, Louisiana.

I've bought it at Matherne's, Whole Foods, and the downtown farmers market on Saturdays.

Yea that's it. They also had a cafe in NO name Chicory Farm Cafe. Their Catahoula cheese won several national an international cheese making awards. Now I think they are n Nova Scotia running lodge of some sort.
