Was really hoping this place would make it.

It's been open for 5 days, you haven't been yet, and you're already checking out? No wonder the great metropolitan area of Prairieville sucks.

Hard to base things off of reviews. I'm sure they are getting into the flow of things and stuff, but if a guy is bitching about being kicked out and acting all innocent I'm sure there is more to the story. Was probably cursing and acting a fool but wants to play victim.

There is definitely more to that story but there is no excuse for the owner of a restaurant to be yelling at customers and there seems to be more than one report of it, in the first week.

No doubt about it. There is always a right and wrong way to handle situations. Got to take the high road frequently if you own a business.

Here's another side of the story. Guy gets bad service (food takes too long to come out of the kitchen) and wants to talk to the owner. Owner comes to his booth and tells the guy that he understands he has complaints. Guy says something like "yes, I sure do, but you better sit down because it is going to take a while" and then proceeds to tell owner that he's run 4 pizza restaurants and yada, yada--lecturing him. After listening for a while and explaining the situation (just opened, young employees, trying our best, etc.), owner says something like "is there anything I can do to make you happy? Can I pay for your meal?" Customer says something like "No, I don't want your money, I just want you to listen to what I have to say." Owner says he doesn't have time for that because he is trying to keep stuff moving, etc. Guy says "well I can see that you are the fricking problem." At that point it got ugly and the guy was "asked" to get out of the restaurant.

No. Just the one incident. I am not saying it was justified, but there was only one incident and I guess I would have to have been there to know for sure if it was justified. I do know the owner and he is a gentleman. We all have our limits though.

He knows there have been some serious service issues during rush hours and he's comped lots of meals because of it. They are working on the service and I hope things will get better. They have only been open 4.5 days and it is a work in progress. This is why lots of people stay away from new restaurants for the first couple of weeks. Service issues are not unusual early on.

I'll give the place a shot. I kinda feel bad for the owner. But, a "Sports Bar" with a tiny bar, TV's all on the same channel, no eye candy for the guys, bad service, no GT machine or other types of entertainment does not sound promising. Food sounds like it might be ok.

Hopefully the owner can fix most of these things soon. He's going to have to or he won't make it. That location is not bad at all, it's just waiting for the right place that's well run, to occupy that space.

The problem is we have several options in the area with decent food and the same beers. Places that have built in customer bases already. So by just having ok food and the same beers they have you arent going to be attracting anyone on a regular bases. He really should have hashed out the concept a little more and put the extra money into making something more. And then hired a great staff and taken the time to have them trained up and ready to hit the ground running. You will still have some hiccups when opening but alot of the issues could have been avoided. Every restaurant I ever helped open every employee got to try every item on the menu. We knew what to recommend and how to sell them.

Maybe the owner just didn't have the funding to do it right, so he proceeded with what he had and is hoping for the best. Very risky plan if that's the case.

I'll try it out. The menu/bar setup/and bar offerings aren't typical of a place I'd frequent, but I'll give em a couple weeks and at least give it a shot.

Always respect those that actually give this business a go. It's a tough one.

Trying everything on the menu in some form should be mandatory part of training.

This is certainly not the case. Dude has some very, very deep pockets.

Well that blows my theory up.

And Dempsey's has never been the same since Kendra left.

I can tell you're upset about this, but is this really a major attraction for anyone other than the college-aged bro-dude demographic?

Rotolos and Tommys both had Envie at one point. Not sure about at the moment though.

Envie is not at Rotolo's since they changed the recipe
Tommy's hasn't had it over the last 3 months from what I've seen unless it was just bad timing.

Man between this and the fact that they don't have a big beer selection My group of friends may never even set foot in the place, a real shame since we frequently goto chimes east and would like a closer spot.
