I've found the seafood gumbo at Don's Downtown to be good and tasty when I've had it. Unfortunately, the entrees I've tried were bland and below average.

I am not a fan of their gumbo, but its ok. The only thing I have found that I like is their seafood salad. It is sad when the best thing on your menu starts with lettuce. However, this fool claims they are awesome and olde tyme is trash.

so sensitive.. you need to find a safe place and someone wearing a safety pin.

I said Olde Tyme is just a sandwich deli, an average place where locals patronize and it's nostalgic. I didn't even say I didn't like it.

Furthermore, I don't think the owners at Olde Tyme would disagree, but you for some reason, can't get over yourself.. and it's quite hysterical.

And feel free to downvote... that's equally comical you big crybaby.

fify you're welcome.. you're obviously butt hurt because I'm spot on.. if I weren't, you'd be giving reasons why Olde Tyme isn't just an average corner sandwich shop, patronized by locals, instead of griping and moaning that someone's being mean.

I don't know that I've had an entree there in a gazillion years. Not much on the menu is appealing to me other than what I named. I guess the fried shrimp may have been an entree. I don't recall. They were plump shrimp, with a light crispy not greasy crust. I haven't been there is a few years I don't believe.

I had an Olde Tyme shrimp poboy once and it was pretty good. Not great, but certainly good and good enough to have again. I'd try something else there, too.

Don's and Olde Tyme are fine for what they are.. imho

And both have a lot of patrons.

eta Don's Seafood Gumbo recipe doesn't include tomatoes

I've had the same experience with Olde Tyme's shrimp poboy. I've never liked that place and have never understood the love for it.

Chris's and Juliens are both better poboy options than Old Tyme.

I have no comment on Olde Tyme, as it's been 5+ years since I've had a poboy from there. But that has nothing to do with you being a douchebag
