I am from Lafayette and did not go to college there, but I enjoy it.

Lafayette born, USL graduate, not sure I ever ate a shrimp po-boy from Olde Tyme....I always stuck with the meatball or roast beef.

BTW, is Juliens still open in Lafayette? I remember them having a decent shrimp po-boy.

Not really. You could say that about a majority of those that rave about Judice inn though

I have gotten so many good recs from this board that the one or two bad ones get free passes.

I agree with you though, the only people that could think that those are the best are people that have memories attached to them. Specifically concerning their shrimp poboy, Popeyes has a better one than Old Tyme. I can't speak to the rest of them because I never went back. I have no emotional attachment to that place.

When that is where you live, that is what you know. Kinda like these people who like old tyme. I don't fault them. It's just what they know.

I hate Old Tyme purely because they don't dress the poboy traditionally. Made the mistake of ordering a fried seafood poboy not knowing it had freakin ketchup on it.
